The superchargers found on 3.8 liter  V6 GM and Ford products commonly wear out  the coupler that transfers power from the nose drive to the impeller gear drive.  Signs of wear are, a prominent rattle at idle and leaking seals.  Very little difference, if any, is noticeable with regards to engine performance.  The rattle can develop into more serious trouble with the end result being chunks of impellor being ingested by the engine.  The loading and unloading of the gears that drive the impeller can cause teeth to be sheared of, seal damage, bearing damage and impellor damage.  This condition is often made worse by a faulty belt tensioner.  Replacement of the tensioner  at the time of installing the remanufactured  supercharger is highly recommended.

We tear down superchargers, clean them thoroughly, replace bearings and seals where necessary, check impellors for clearance and always replace the nose drive.  The units are filled with oil before shipping.

Warranty policy

Cherry Turbos offers a  1 year or 10,000 mile  warranty on the parts and labour of our remanufactured superchargers for use in regular applications as intended by the supercharger manufacturer and equipment manufacturer.   If your supercharger  fails  contact us immediately. Maintain your supercharger with fresh oil every 50,000 km or 30,000 mi.
